Congratulations to the under 18 girls and the under 16 boys 'B' teams who this weekend progressed into the 2nd round of the National Junior Championships.

The girls, playing without three of their starting 6 came through with a 3-0 win over Wirral and a 3-1 defeat to an excellent Redhill team and go into the 'group of death' in the second round, with Redhill, wessex and Wiltshire Mavericks - all 4 of whom were at last year's top 8s!

The boys 'B' squad was made up of two year 8s, two year 9s, four year 10s and two year 11s so a real mixture. Playing technically excellent volleyball they beat Birchwood (Warrington) and Redhill 'B' 2-0 in convincing styler before losing 25-21, 25-20 to Redhill 'A' in a very good close match. Both teams progress to face NSVC A and one other team in January in the 2nd round.
